Baby Shower tips

Planning a baby shower, then there is a lot to be done. Just follow our timeline and the steps outlined and you are on your way of having a wonderful baby shower.

Making the guest list for the baby shower

Of course the first thing that you, must do is to make a guest list. Of course when you make the initial guest list, you would know how many would be able to come and how many won’t be able to come. If there are a number of baby showers happening, then talk about the other baby showers with those that are hosting them.

The number of people attending the party would directly affect the budget. Planning a baby shower means planning for the people who would be there. Get the addresses and the telephone numbers of the people that you are planning to invite for the baby shower. It’s an extremely handy list since the mother-to-be will have the updated list for sending “Thank You cards” later.

Budgeting is important when planning baby shower

Think about the budget when planning a baby shower. Depending on the budget, you would be able to make allocation for the invitation cards, decoration, location, menu and other details. If you are really tight on the budget, you still have a number of options.

If you have a tight budget, you could always use your own home or someone else’s home for planning a baby shower. The savings can be considerable enough to spend on other things such as decorations and food.

If you think that you would be having a large group of people, then its best to co-host the party. Usually they would be close friends or family members. Now that you have the budget, you could allocate the budget.

Choosing a theme when you are planning a baby shower

If you have a theme, it would influence the location, the menu, the ambience and will simply set the tone for the baby shower party. It’s a great idea to take in to consideration any themes that the mommy-to-be has in her mind.

Zeroing in a date for the baby shower

Baby showers are usually held 6-8 weeks before the due date of the baby arrival. You may want to have it on a Friday or Saturday night. Though Sundays can be a more economical option. Remember if the mommy-to-be were having a number of baby showers, it would be best to call up others and fix the dates. If you are inviting out of town friends and family, be sure to contact them before hand and ensure that they can make on the dates that you have zeroed on.

Choosing the location for planning a baby shower

Whatever location, you choose, ensure that it can accommodate the number of guests that you plan to invite for the baby shower. It can be a hotel, restaurant, rented party place or someone’s home. Yu will save on space rental, if you are having the shower at home. However you will be spending extra money on plates, napkins, cups, the other utensils and even table and chair rentals.

Start looking for restaurant or hotel space early. These places should be able to serve food for the mommy-to-be and the guests also. When planning a baby shower, ensure that the location can also blend in with the theme of the party that you have decided.

Other important aspects for planning a baby shower

The other important aspects are deciding the baby shower invitations, the menu for the food, games for the baby showers and so on. If you were hosting the shower at a hotel or a restaurant, you would be given a choice of menu from which you can decide the food and drinks that you require.
